Early Premiere: The Borgias

Sometimes to tell a great story all you have to do is look to the past.  In 1492 Rodrigo Borgia was elected Pope and so began an era of crime and corruption attributed to Alexander VI and his family.  And now Showtime is bringing their story to the small screen in the new show starring Jeremy Irons, Davis Oakes, Francois Arnaud, Holliday Grainger, Aidan Alexander, Joanne Whalley, Derek Jacobi, and Colm Feore.  The official synopsis:

The Borgias is a complex, unvarnished portrait of one of history’s most intriguing and infamous dynastic families. The series begins as Rodrigo schemes his way into the position of Pope, causing him, his two Machiavellian sons Cesare and Juan, and his scandalously beautiful daughter Lucrezia, to become the most powerful and influential family of the Italian Renaissance.

The Borgias premieres on Showtime Sunday April 3rd at 9pm Eastern Time.

Early Premiere: Breakout Kings

Breakout Kings is a new drama created by Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead that was originally ordered to pilot by FOX.  However, after not being picked up for a series run the show was sold to A & E for a 13 episode season.  Official synopsis:

Driven by the fact that there are few things more dangerous than a prisoner who has just escaped, and tired of following protocol and resorting to outdated methods of law enforcement, veteran U.S. Marshals Charlie Duchamp (Laz Alonso, Avatar, The Fast and the Furious) and Ray Zancanelli (Domenick Lombardozzi, The Wire, Entourage) are taking an unorthodox approach to their work: using former fugitives to catch fugitives.

Breakout Kings premieres on A & E on Sunday March 6th at 10pm Eastern Time.

Until next time,

Breaking_In

Will the 3rd time be the charm for Christian Slater, not to mention Bret Harrison?  Both Slater and Harrison have tried their shot at network TV on 4 separate shows and both have seen their shows be cancelled early on in their run.  Harrison has faired a little better considering Reaper saw 2 seasons before it got the axe.   Breaking In (title may be changed) is a workplace comedy created by Adam F. Goldberg and Seth Gordon about a group of genius who are hired to break in to businesses.  Although originally ordered to pilot in January 2010, the show wasn’t given the official nod until November 2010.   Hopefully for everybody involved with the making of this show they will be able to prove they have got what it takes to be renewed with in the 7 episodes that have been ordered.

Breaking In also stars Odette Yustman (You Again), Trevor Moore (The Whitest Kids U’ Know), and Alphonso McAuley (Glory Road).   Premiering  on Fox April 6, 2011.

Until next time,
